New Post: Windows crashing

I all,
I have a problem on my Windows Vista that began afetr the purchase of an external Hard Disk Freecom.
A few days afetr the purchase I disconnected it while it was writing and, since that moment, every time I connect and disconnect it, the PC go to freeze mode for 5 minutes.
The same thing happen even if the hard disk is disconnected: every time I start windows it go to freeze a little after the password, and every time I connect and disconnect a usb device.
I have looked for the solution everywhere, updated windows, unistalled and installed the hard disk from the device manager but I solved the problem only when I restored a recent backup.
Yesterday the Hard disk was writing a backup while Vista was installing the updates; at the end of the proceure windows restarted automatically and the problem began again!!!
The Pc go to freeze when it starts, every time I connect or disconnect the hard disk, an usb earphone that has always worked switch on but there is no audio and I don't know how many others usb devices will have problems.
Has anyone an idea to solve this problem before I throw out of the window Vista or the the hard disk?

Check out PowerCommands for Visual Studio 2008 (released along with source, so if you find some toys here that arent in the 08 pack, you can develop them)

Can be fixed easily, It does require two versions of the installer, one for 32bit Vista and another for 64bit vista

32bit Vista will work with default source code and does not require this modification.

To enable the uninstaller to properly uninstall the installed applications...

change this line
RegistryKey uninstallKey = Microsoft.Win32.Registry.LocalMachine.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall");

To This Line
RegistryKey uninstallKey = Microsoft.Win32.Registry.LocalMachine.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall");

Then the uninstaller will work correctly!

The Removal & uninstall functions are broken when the utility is run on Vista, It is able to install any utility however it is unable to uninstall anything.

Do all Power Toys run in VS 2008? Or none of them?

I get the "The tool feed could not be downloaded ..." message probably because of company firewall issues.

I downloaded the latest executable and also put packfeed.xml in the same directory.

Could someone help me get this to install/run?

Also, it is not clear if the executable is an installation or the actual executable.

I have an issue at my job. The only application allowed to access port 80 is Internet Explorer 6 and nothing else. So That means this application cannot access the feed. How can I mannually get the Power Toys.

I was wondering if you ware going to add VSMouseBindings to the new pack please?

From what I've seen on the web it looks very handy - and since it's not available any more anywhere online, it's a bit of a bummer...

I've never used the VSMouseBindings but have spent the past 20 minutes trying to find a version of it... come to stumble here and find out there is none for 05? :( Seems like something that'd be really useful! Where's the beef?

Funny you should ask, I actually have a work item to update it for VS 2005. As soon as that's done I'll make sure it's included in the Pack Installer feed. It should be done in the next two or three weeks.

If not, is there another way I can bind macros and the like to additional mouse buttons?
